This stunning 1968 Jaguar 420 is a fine example of a rare model. Manufactured from 1966 until 1969 it combined the best features of several other models. The 4.2 litre straight 6 and independent rear suspension of the E-Type along with the relatively compact (compared to the 420G) body of the S-Type gave fantastic performance in a family saloon car. This car was specified new with the desirable Manual/Over Drive gear box giving even more appeal to the enthusiastic driver. Power steering and disc brakes front and rear make this a real joy to be behind the wheel.
There is a huge history file with this car, most of which documents a comprehensive restoration in the mid 90's where no expense was spared to make sure this car was rebuilt correctly with excellent attention to detail. It was stripped to a bare shell with all repair work done to a very high standard. The engine was rebuilt by VSE and invoices total around £20,000 for the work. The original leather trim gives the car a beautiful patina and it attracts complements from all who see her. Please take time to look through the photos.
